A\nhighly versatile product, most people associate it with stuffed toys or beanbag\nfiller (for which it\u2019s excellent) but there are many other uses too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Benefits of polystyrene balls <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While versatility is one\nreason why polystyrene has become widely used for a number of applications,\nthere are other benefits. Polystyrene balls are: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Lightweight<\/li><li>Durable <\/li><li>Shock absorbing <\/li><li>Insulating <\/li><li>Moisture resistant <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Indeed, when looking at the\nadvantages listed above, it\u2019s clear to see why polystyrene has become the\nmaterial of choice for packaging. Rather than being seen as a\nthrowaway item, however, it is important to remember that polystyrene can be\nrecycled. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Made up of 98% air and with no\ndamaging CFC gases, larger polystyrene sheets or moulded products can be broken\ndown into beads and mixed with new beads to form new blocks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, granulated\npolystyrene can be sent on to be used in other products including plant pots\nand garden furniture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, polystyrene balls\ncan be used as insulation in cavity walls. A small hole is cut into a wall or\nplasterboard, before the beads are inserted with an air blower, filling up the\nempty space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This forms a barrier, and due\nto its insulating properties, locks in heat and improves energy efficiency.
